Adolescent Health Lead

Taylor Yates is the Adolescent Health Lead for the Tennessee Department of Health's Division of Family Health and Wellness. She works to pull together adolescent health intiatives across the division and work upstream for the betterment of all Tennessee adolescents. She is a part of the Maternal and Child Health Block Grant team and, before transitioning to this role, was a Health Educator for the Tennessee Department of Health. She graduated in May of 2023 with her Master of Public Health from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga, and was a Research Assistant while she was a student. She assisted with nutritional baseline work on the island of San Salvador, Bahamas, and completed a research fellowship in Cadiz, Spain, focusing on health literacy while in graduate school. After discovering she was in remission from Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell Lymphoma in June of 2023, she has always had a passion for Adolescents and Young Adults (AYAs) access to healthcare, care coordination, delivery of services, and survivorship.
